Rules Changes Announced for High School Boys' and Girls' Lacrosse

US Lacrosse recently announced rule changes for both boys and girls high school lacrosse. On the boys side, notable changes include non-goalie crease privileges while on the girls side, a noteworthy revision involves the rule governing the draw. The changes, which were endorsed by the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS), are effective for the 2017 high school lacrosse seasons.

Team USA Men's Roster for Grand Opening Announced

US Lacrosse and U.S. men’s senior team head coach John Danowski have named 44 players that will play in an exhibition game Sept. 11 as part of the US Lacrosse Grand Opening celebration weekend. The roster includes 12 players from the 2014 U.S. team, which captured the silver medal at the Federation of International Lacrosse World Championship in Denver.

The West boys lacrosse team went undefeated over three days at the Bay State Games en route to its second straight gold medal. The West Squad outscored opponents 75-29 through five games, using a balanced attack and strong defensive effort to beat teams from Central Mass., Northeast/Metro and Southeast/Coastal. "Our west team displayed great sportsmanship," West coach Bill Scott said in an email. "They represented their respective schools, towns & area very well … with class & pride."

GUILDFORD, England — The U.S. women’s team closed out a week of training and exhibitions in England on Sunday by posting a 19-1 victory over Germany and a 20-1 win over Wales. The U.S. finished the tour with a 5-0 record.
